In 2019, I retired and began to write about my art with the goal of putting it all together and making sense of it. My hope is that by reviewing the art that I have already created I will be drawn back to a point of practicing art again.
When I went to college my Fine Arts concentrations were Sculpture and Painting with the edge given to sculpture. I thoroughly enjoy working with the human figure in sculpture and I manipulated paint and color like there was no tomorrow. I always thought that there would be another painting where that came from and did not hesitate to let them go at first. As I look through my artwork after all of those years of working with people I remember the things that were going on in my life at the time when I created the artworks. I have stepped back from my art for many years and have a fresh perspective. By doing this I am able to look at the artwork, recognize my journey and revelations as a “gateway to understanding the soul”.
