“The more centered my clay becomes, the more centered I become. The wheel is my Zen…a total state of focus that incorporates a total togetherness of body and mind. I create from a place of focused attention and a visceral connection with clay. It’s thrilling to take a piece of the earth and transform it into a vessel that stimulates ones senses. My desire is for my ceramics to nurture the body and soul, while also eliciting a reaction, be it emotional or physical. My passion for shaping the earth with my hands started as a small child. I created forms from mud, and the sun was my kiln. So simple and yet so satisfying. That sentiment has not changed, over the years. The simplicity and precision of my work brings me an inner peace, as I suppose it did as a child.”
