Clients were national and international Fortune 500 companies over a broad spectrum of products and services. Positions and responsibilities ranged from Graphic Designer, Art Director, Studio Manager, Production/Fulfillment Manager, VP of Marketing Services and VP Print Production. Membership in professional organizations included the Philadelphia Art Directors Club of which he served as president for three terms and board member for many yearsp the Philadelphia Direct Marketing Association and the Printing Industries Association.

After retiring in 2006 Don has devoted much of his time to drawing and painting. Having worked in various media over the years, his preferred medium is watercolor. The artist enjoys painting a wide range of subjects and the specific challenges each poses. While working in the realistic tradition, he strives to avoid a photographic image and “photo realism.” His objective is to create a personal interpretation of the subject reflecting the emotion, light, color and moment in time. Don works both in his studio as well as in plein air around the country during his travels.

Don has participated in workshops with well-known watercolorist such as David Taylor at the Hudson River Valley Art Workshops, Howard Watson and Jim McFarlane at the Woodmere Art Museum and Wendy Schier at the Chester County Art Association. His works have been exhibited at the Chester County Art Association (CCAA), Philadelphia Sketch Club (PSC), Artsbridge Art Association and regional galleries both in juried and non-juried shows. He is Associate Member of the American Watercolor Society and the Philadelphia Watercolor Society, as well as being an active memer of the Cheester County Art Association, Arttsbridge Art Association, Greater Norristown Art League, and Philadelphia Sketch Club where he also monitors a weekly life workshop.

His works are in private collections in both the United States and Canada.

The artist resides in Downingtown, Chester County, Pennsylvania, and is an active volunteer in his township of East Brandywine.
