Gloria is a native of Berks County and has been drawing and painting for as long as she can remember. She was selected along with a handful of students, from Reading Senior High School, to study with the late James P. Waldren, who was then the curator of the Reading Public Museum and Art Gallery, as well as the president of the Berks Art Alliance. He became her mentor encouraging Gloria to pursue her talents. She continues to study with local and nationally-known artists.
Her inspiration comes from nature, using oils, acrylics, and mixed media. Her favorite subjects are landscapes; scenes from sailing vacations on the Caribbean Islands, and subjects that are happy, done in a representational style.
Recently retired, she has expanded her talents and enjoys painting decorative furniture. She constantly strives to improve her skills by experimenting with new techniques.
Gloria is an active member of the Berks Art Alliance and a coop member and director of the Art Plus Gallery in West Reading, PA. She participates in local art shows: Tri-county Art Show and Sale, Elverson and the Birdsboro Friends of the Arts show. She had a very successful solo show at the Wyomissing Highlands and at Phoebe Berks Village, Wernersville.
Life is a journey. Gloria’s journey is her love for the beauty in nature, life, good friends, family, her house, her dog, god and especially her sons Eric and Chris Schultz and now her fiancé Walt.
Her paintings hang in private collections and corporations.
