Artist Statement/ Bio
Creating with my hands has always been when I felt most engaged with the world around me. I became fascinated with the dynamic qualities of watercolor painting over a decade ago. I continue to enjoy mastering this medium through classes and workshops with regionally and nationally recognized artists. I paint in a representational style in watercolors and, most recently, in oils. The natural environment is a continual source of inspiration. I gravitate toward botanical, wildlife, and still-life subjects, often in a close up format. I love connecting others through art. A few of the organizations which I have participated in exhibitions are: Philadelphia Watercolor Society, Philadelphia Sketch Club, Berks Art Alliance, Lancaster Art Association, Perkiomen Valley Art Center and the York Art Association. I have served on the board for the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society and the Berks Art Alliance. I enjoy working from my home studio in Mohnton, Pennsylvania.
