Artist Statement
The beauty of the natural environment is a frequent inspiration for my watercolor paintings. My work often explores wildlife, botanicals and still life in a close-up format, as if holding the object out to the viewer. Through these intimate views, I want others to reflect on their own experiences in nature and reconnect to the affirming qualities it provides. I am fascinated by how living organisms are adapted to their environment by color and design, and I incorporate this in my composition. Not only does nature enrich our lives through its visual allure, but also, through reflecting aspects of ourselves back to us.
